I really like the female paragon dance. Their hair is also totally radical. Im glad we have more options than we did in the pvp event for character creation. I also noticed that no matter which hair style i chose for the male dervish, I looked like a Krytan.
LOL, this is what I wanted to do, but as of 7:30 am, it was still down, so thanks for the info.

I wanted to make a female Paragon, so the hair sounds good. I also wanted to make a Dervish male, and if I can't find a hair I like, I'll just be sure to wear a hood all the time.

I want to try a D/Ele. Has anyone tried that combo yet?

The reactions towards the dances are mixed but I wouldn't care about it since I'm not going to be dancing all day for a living in GW.

The land of Elona looks great IMHO.

Heroes are wonderful and follow directions well.

Isn't there a shout/enchantment from an npc near the first outpost that gives you a promotion point of each plant killed?

The new professions aren't needed, they try to take on roles of older professions but do it slightly differently. It sucks.

I hope next chapter no new professions, only new skills and areas.

well playing the new classes is kind of the point of the weekend. And yes, for the first few weeks after release you will see a TON of the new classes.
People will bring over their old tanks and monks, but just because you dont like the new classes doesnt mean they should stop making more. A chapter of new skills and areas would not excite me, and I would feel ripped off.

I bet the hero units are fun to play with but how many can you control? I heard that you can only use one per battles?

Every shrine in explorable areas has an NPC who does this. The bonuses stack, meaning you can have as many active as you can find in a given area. It's not just plants, but also insects, harpies, skales, etc. etc. Probably everything. (although I haven't found one for cosairs yet.)

True.

The female Dervish dance is sooo graceful and serene.

The rest of the new 'dances' are just plain OMG-fuglystupid. I thought the female assassin dance was the most awkward-looking (as in "white girl ain't got no rhythm!" -- I'm not intending offense to anyone), but I think the female Paragon has just about topped it.

Hairstyles: it seems Elona is Home of the Cornrow. Has anyone noticed that a majority of the styles are some variation of cornrows? A few are really pretty but some are......not. Beyond that, there are a couple hairstyles I like - the ranger seems to have inherited the long ponytail of the Dervish (from the first preview event). The mesmer has a 'do with a peacock feather stuck in her headband that's kinda cute-sophisticated. And the necro has a wild and funky style that is a riot!

Whoever it was that mentioned how many new characters with a lighter skintone -- for myself, when I'm choosing a face, I use the lightest as it's the only one that the graphics show up right with. (The faces have strange graphics around the lips and nose area in the darker tones - at least in the creation screen.) Since I usually play red-heads, a lighter skintones work best for my girls, although I will say that some of the medium tones are rather pretty in NF.

So what about the enemies spawn in Nightfall. Do we get the same old.. load up one part of the map and see if you can avoid aggroing them? Or did they finally implement a better spawn system with tougher enemies instead of loading the whole map with red dots.

does anyone know if the female paragon dance is another "80s or 90s" dance that I should recognize?

The paragons dancing makes elona look like a fun place to party.

i also hope that they can let us rename our hero

Exclamation So far

I played this morning for about an hour and a half and these are the things I liked and disliked. Made it to about three towns while exploring I think

Liked:
`Heroes
`Being able to put down waypoint flags
`Environment is gorgeous
`Mouths moved in the cutscenes
`Music
`Dervishes and Paragons

Disliked:
`Armor and money sounds are gone. I liked them when I was playing yesterday although they need to work on matching sounds with armor types. My tiger sounded like my mesmer and assassin. As long as they aren't too annoying I think they add to the atmosphere of the game.
`Didn't see any skill quests even though I had 7+ quests in my list
`The waypoint texture was kinda frakin out unless I got close
`The first part of the animation (orangish sphere that goes around you) for Anthem of Flame didn't show up until after the second time you cast it. I read about other skills doing this before.
`I prioritized Cyclone Axe for Koss and he wouldn't use it until he died for some reason. It had the check mark for over 10 min. Then after that he used it as soon as I prioritized it ?!?!
`Heroes using only your skills since I don't know how to get them a different professions skills YET.
`The only mission I think I did was TIMED .... *UGH*

Giving it another shot after this

I completly agree, the paragon dance (Michael Jackson, I dont need to say anything about that guy)and tighty whiteys!!! ugh

Dervish, men in dresses just arent the type of professions I will be playing.

Overall the profesions have been a huge disappointment, I wont be playing them primary anytime soon unless its a pvp character I can erase.

I guess I will be making a PvE Ranger Primary...or maybe a Necro primary.

Get rid of timed missions....so blah.

I am disgusted with what they did to mysticism. Very true the D/MO build was way overpowered. The change needed to be in CoP and a slight tweak to mysticism. Anet went with its typical 2/3 reduction nerf bat and knocked the hp gain from 48 to 16 and energy gain from 8 to 5... ANET YOUR MORONS.

Sorry for that lil flame.

Honestly think about it. dervish is a 70 AL frontline holy warrior and a slight al boost vs elemental types. They need that HP. I agree on energy gain reduction.
post beta preview i suggested making hp gain 2 for ever 1 capping hp gain at 32hp and capping the energy gain at 5e. So tell me WTF good is 14-16hp every 10-20sec? vigorous spirit would do more then mysticism does.

AoE condition spamming is now at 20sec recharges. I agree on the dmg reduction for these enchantments but come on 20 sec on recharges.

I am sure other builds will pop up and be ok and i ran a D/MO but also took the time to design a real Dervish. I dont know how in the hell you expect the dervish to be a holy (wammo) replacement.

I have played both campaign and every class in nearly every build and to this day i still do not get the assbackwards balancing concepts of anet.

Please set mysticism at 2 hp per attribute point and energy gain as is.
As far as skills Give the pbaoe burst enchantments 10-12sec recharges but 1 sec cast and leave balthazars rage as is.

this will make mysticism about 1/3 more effective, casting dmg will be steady but not spammable.

This is just My opinion from what i have seen in this preview. ATM Dervish are going to be a target on the front line.

I also am not a big fan of "commanding" the hench and heros I wish they would just follow you and commanding could be an option. ugg the heros are bothering me do you have to use them? Sryy to complain on postive side noghfall looks really pretty and the new professions seem cool

I tamed a flamingo, er yeah, ummm. Well it was either that or a not very impressive warthog.

Some of the weapons and shields I've seen are good looking. Sun and Moon shield especially.

Something odd: nearly every player I've seen walking around made their character as white as they could. I personally find it disturbing.
QUOTE]

Its disturbing that we have the freedom to create a character any way we want and do so. Get of your politicly correct high horse, if we want to create a white male or a black female we should be able to with out listening to people like you whine about it. So what its a game even if its in an African enviroment. Its available to all races to play how thay want to.

Im still a little over quested from Factions. I dont feel like Im building towards anything by doing most of them. Granted, the extra exp for skill unlocking is nice, but... I can put that off and unlock through other means.
So far, sidequest means nothing.

I like the female dances a lot better than the male dances. Despite the negitive response on the Paragon girl I think its hot. (and I think the elona girls are hotter than the other two, what the hells wrong with some of you people, you see that eley outfit, that necro looks like lil'kim... that bitch is bad)
I also wish there were more hair and face options.

Hero system is good so far. If it works without flaw then it will be a perfect add to pve. I havent tried heros/pvp, and Im not holding my breath on it being "must play." But again, in pve -perfect. Keep it for future chapters if this is as good as it seems so far.

Love the new attribute/skill/profession changing window. about ga-dam time
Looovin some of the new skills for the other 8 professions. Im particually glad that some new ranger skills look more usefull in this campaign than any did in the last one. (not to siked about eley advancments though)

I cant comment heavily on how the new class work but of the two Im looking at the paragon for making larger waves in the pvp game, while dervish take over in pve. (just a shot in the dark prediction)

Ill bring up only one dissappointment, (though I have more) although its never been addressed by anet. There arent any advancements in searching systems in this preview. Its usefulness would have helped everyone in the game x100 from day one.

Highs: New attribute/skill menu. Interesting and perhaps important new skills.
Lows: Nothing wrong with doing lots of quest if I got reasons to do them, which I dont think I have any over, farming. No searching feature. Ill scan WTS, LFG in chat for about .03 seconds before i see a henchmen for my needs for now.

(oh, and theres nothing wrong with being a male paragon these days)
